Sauce with horseradish perfectly suits any kind of meat. Especially good are buzhenina pancakes with it. Horseradish sauce has slightly sour-sweet taste and a gentle spicy flavour of horseradish. I use prepared horseradish, it’s a pureed white-coloured substance made of grated horseradish routes with some vinegar, sugar & salt. In Russia it is sold everywhere. Someday, when I’ll have access to horseradish routes, I will tell you how to create it by yourself.
I know that in some countries there’s only sweet mayonnaise for sale. If the prepared horseradish, you’ve found, contains no sugar, it will be probably ok, I’m not sure. This sauce shouldn’t be too sweet.
- 100 g of non-sweet mayonnaise
- 100 g of prepared horseradish
- 50 g of tomato paste (it should contain nothing more than tomatoes, water, sugar & salt)
Mix all ingredients well and taste the sauce, if you feel that there’s too much of horseradish – add more mayonnaise, if there’s a lack of horseradish – add some.
